  • Family-friendly site on a family-run 150-acre adventure farm
  • A 20-minute drive from central Leeds; 45 minutes from York
  • Café, food shop, kids’ farm, play area and free wifi

Want to spend some time surrounded by horses, sheep and swine? Head to this 150-acre adventure farm near Leeds if you’re hoping for a bumper crop of animal-filled antics – this family-run spot is home to a whole host of friendly critters (including a few more exotic ones like alpacas and meerkats).

This countrified site may be full of farmyard sights and sounds, but it’s also well-connected – it’s a 20-minute drive from here into central Leeds, and both the M1 and M62 are a few minutes’ drive away. This, along with handy free wifi, makes planning many a fab day out splendidly straightforward (including jaunts further afield to York or the Yorkshire Dales).

There’s plenty to explore on site though if you’re not up for venturing far, including a soft play area and a kids’ farm (officially for the tiddlers but often the scene of cooing grownups too). You may also like to contemplate dinner cooked on the barbecue: it’s a proper farm-to-fork affair here as you can pick up fresh meat from the farm’s butchery. The on-site café is a popular option for lighter bites (or for a proper cooked breakfast for those looking to start the day with a bit of oomph).

In terms of bathing facilities, this site is a little lower on frills: no showers are available, but basics like loos are sorted. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you on hols here (but please keep them on a lead to curb that pesky herding instinct).
